Live music from Austin, Texas
Originally conceived in 2001 as an 18-piece big band, the Blue Diamonds have been mixing a traditional big band jazz repertoire with more modern blues, funk and rock arrangements for over seven years. The current lineup as a nine-piece ensemble was established in 2005, and has allowed the Blue Diamonds to include more bebop, Latin, rock and R&B tunes in addition to our own treatments of ball room classics, swing tunes and vocal standards.
The Blue Diamonds focus their marketing on business and community events, private parties, and weddings. We have played for numerous IBM business socials, Freescale Semiconductor's annual Family Day celebration, The Austin Uptown Classic 10k, various charity events, private parties, weddings, and dances sponsored by groups such as The Austin Swing Syndicate, The Austin Ballroom Dancers and others.
